Up until 2023, Region 10 has supported the current scholarships through its annual budget. Donations to the Region 10 Arabian Horse Association Scholarship Fund are tax deductible. The Region 10 Arabian Horse Association Scholarship Fund is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, established in 2022. We ask for your assistance in raising the funds for Region 10 AHA Scholarship Funds for many years to come! Mary Anne Grimmell 2026 Memorial Scholarship Program
DESCRIPTION: Two $1,000.00 scholarships to be awarded to the top applicants from Region 10 (including other clubs and Thunder Country Arabian Horse Assn.), provided qualified applicants apply.
ELIGIBILITY:
➢ Applicants planning to or currently majoring in any profession–college or other training equivalent to at least: (1) four school years in length or (2) two school years in length.
➢ (1) All high school seniors or (2) high school graduates currently enrolled in a post high program including associate degree, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, MS, PhD, DVM program, etc. Scholarships are open to ANY age applicant.
➢ Applicants must have been a Region 10 residents within the previous five years and be current members of a Region 10 affiliated club, such as Minnesota Arabian Horse Assn. Or Wisconsin Arabian Horse Association and have been members for at least two (2) of the last five (5) years. A copy of your membership card(s) is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Two letters of recommendation:
-One from a horseperson with comments on applicant’s equine abilities & experiences
-One from a teacher or advisor indicating the quality of work in school OR one from an employer or supervisor indicating the quality of performance at work
- Proof of acceptance from the school where the scholarship will be applied. (Required only after selection of recipient.)

- Club Presidents will be contacted to confirm membership and participation in the club. The president of the club will be asked to fill out a short form updating the scholarship committee on the applicant.
Applications/letters and email’s postmarked or sent after that date WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE.
- All requested Documents should be submitted in a large flat envelope. Do not fold documents.
- Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than June 5th, 2026. Recipients will be asked to attend the Region 10 Championship show to be part of the award ceremony. If not available, we will send you your award letter via mail.
- Scholarships will be paid in the name of the school or the school and the recipient upon
enrollment for the fall semester. Recipients must inform Region 10 how the school wants the check made out.

- The Arabian Horse Foundation Scholarships: Arabian Horse Association Youth members are eligible to apply for scholarships awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability, leadership, and equine involvements for undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited college or university. ____ - Minnesota High School Equestrian Association Scholarships: Each year, the Minnesota High School Equestrian Association awards scholarships to deserving MHSEA members who are graduating seniors. The mission of the Minnesota High School Equestrian Association is to promote equestrian disciplines as a high school sport with Varsity recognition of equestrian athletes.
____ - Minnesota Horse Council Scholarships: Each year, the Minnesota Horse Council awards up to 11 scholarships totaling at least $3,000 to deserving applicants. Application deadline is November 1. See the Minnesota Horse Council website for more information.
____ - Wisconsin Horse Council Scholarships: The Wisconsin Horse Council awards two scholarships annually—one $2,000 award to a student enrolled in veterinary school, and one award of $1,000 to a student attending a Technical college for an equine-related major. ____ - Western Saddle Clubs Association: The Western Saddle Club’s Association awards a varied number of and dollar amount of scholarships annually to current WSCA members for use in post-secondary education. Many Region 10 affiliate clubs, including the Minnesota Arabian Horse Association and the Minnesota Half-Arabian Horse Association are member clubs of WSCA so you may already hold a membership to this club if your Region 10 affiliate club is a member.
