Arabian Horses Return to Madison: Championship Show Rides into the Alliant Energy Center June
25–29, 2025
Madison, WI – The beauty, power, and history of the Arabian horse will take center stage this
summer as the 2025 Region 10 Arabian Horse Championships gallop into Madison’s Alliant Energy
Center, June 25–29. With 300–400 Purebred Arabian and Half/Anglo-Arabian horses traveling from
across the U.S. and Canada, it is the largest Arabian horse event to take place in Wisconsin in
many years. Admission and parking are free for the public.
The Region 10 Championship is one of 18 prestigious Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Regional
Championship events across North America, showcasing a wide variety of disciplines including
English, Hunter, Western, Halter, Working Western, and a crowd favorite, Native Costume.
The Arabian horse is the oldest purebred breed of horse and a global breed. During the exciting
Native Costume class, horses and exhibitors showcase colorful costumes representative of their
global heritage in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula.
This marks a rare return to Madison for the Region 10 Championships, which have traditionally been
held in St. Paul, Minnesota. Due to construction at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, the show was
relocated — creating an exciting opportunity for growth and new community engagement.
“Moving a horse show of this size to a new facility and new city presented many challenges but also
the opportunity to gain new horses and exhibitors,” said AHA Region 10 Director Hillary Hoffman.
“We are extremely excited to be coming to Madison and welcoming the local community to our show to
experience the magic of the Arabian horse. This is the largest Arabian horse show to be held in
Wisconsin in many years.”
For many local Arabian horse owners including Tracy Lynch, the show’s return to Madison is deeply
meaningful.
“Having our Regional Championship horse show back in Madison, WI, where my dad started his horse
training business, is incredibly special,” said Lynch. “I showed in my first horse show at just 1½
years old at this very location. To have a show of this level return to my home state is such a
thrill. I’m so excited for friends and family to witness the beauty of our Arabians and share in
something I’m so passionate about.”
All are Invited to come Experience the Magic of the Arabian Horse
At the heart of the Region 10 Arabian Horse Championships is a mission to preserve and share the
magic of the Arabian horse with future generations. Known for their beauty, intelligence, and deep human connection, Arabian horses have inspired people for centuries. The Region 10 Arabian Horse Championships offers families, children, and newcomers a rare opportunity to experience that magic in person.
On Saturday, June 28, the event goes beyond the show ring and into the barns, with free guided barn
tours that invite guests of all ages to meet Arabian Horse Ambassadors up close. These
well-mannered, people-loving horses (and their equally passionate handlers) are there to greet the
public, answer questions, and let kids and families experience the soft nuzzle of an Arabian horse,
perhaps for the first time. There will also be free activities for kids and adults making for a fun
filled day with the Arabian horse.
Visitors can then head to the Saturday Night Spotlight Session at 5:30 PM, where they’ll get to
cheer for the horses they met earlier as they perform in the show arena. This unique blend of
hands-on interaction followed by an entertaining and exciting show ring experience makes the day
especially meaningful for all types of horse lovers.
“We believe that once someone has the chance to truly connect with an Arabian horse, they’ll
understand why this breed has stood the test of time,” added Hoffman. “It’s not just a horse show,
it’s a living legacy we’re sharing.”
For event schedules and the best times to visit, follow AHA Region 10 on social media or check the
